How to pick locks and crack safes
Three lock grades use different tools. Safes are solved on the dial each run. There is no universal combination on this page.

Three grades
Naguide names simple, tumbler, and master lock grades. Its station article places master locks at Texas Train Station. Raintek's skill notes say master lockpicking makes locks easier overall. These sources do not establish an exclusive lock grade for every region. Controller vibration is mentioned by Naguide with the words if applicable, so I am not calling it a guaranteed cue.
Lock and tool pairings from Naguide alone, published 15 Aug 2025; source check 30 Oct 2026.
| Lock | Skill named | Tool named |
|---|---|---|
| Simple | Lockpicking 1 | Lockpick set |
| Tumbler | Lockpicking 2 | Bobby pin |
| Master | Lockpicking 3 | Bobby pin |
Reading a safe, not memorizing one
Naguide's brute method: hold Shift and D to spin clockwise until the dial stops and shows the first number, confirm the clunk, then Shift and A counterclockwise for the second, then a third the same way. Enter them clockwise, counterclockwise, clockwise. That produces a combination for the safe in front of you. It is not a code you can paste from a wiki.
Glass on an alarmed window is a separate gesture in that article: down, right, down with the glass cutter. Quiet doors elsewhere are a long press. I am not folding those into the lock minigame.
What is missing
Nobody has published a frame window or a sweet-spot width I can cite twice. If you wanted a difficulty number, it is blank on purpose.
Questions
Which tool for which lock?
Naguide pairs Lockpicking 1 and a lockpick set with simple locks, level 2 and a bobby pin with tumbler locks, and level 3 and a bobby pin with master locks.
Where can I practice?
The same article says the safehouse has three cabinets that are those three locks.
